Leitrim's Barry McNulty has been voted GAA.ie Footballer of the Week following his inspired performance against London at the weekend

The Leitrim star received 3,709 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page, which put him ahead of fellow nominees like Donegal's Conor O'Donnell (3,327) and Dublin's Con O'Callaghan (2,430).

The Glencar Manorhamilton man marked his return from injury at the weekend in style by hitting 6 two pointers after coming on at half time as Letrim overturned a 12-point deficit to gain victory at McGovern Park in Ruislip.

The 20-year-old talisman received national notice for his performance, being named in midfield on the team of the week alongside Roscommon’s Enda Smith.

He has also received praise from pundits, including RTE’s Des Cahill, who took to X, formerly Twitter to say: “INCREDIBLE! Barry McNulty of #Leitrim, back from injury, came off the bench and scored SIX two-pointers as Leitrim came from 10 points down to beat London. He’s a serious player!”

The player of the week was voted for on the GAA’s Instagram account.
