Ongoing push for justice in Liam Farrell case as family meets with Gardaí

The body of Leitrim man Liam Farrell is to be exhumed next week as part of an ongoing investigation into his death.

Mr Farrell, who was 87 when he died, will be exhumed from Cloonmorris Cemetery in Bornacoola on Friday, April 10, his family has been informed.

He was found dead in suspicious circumstances outside his home in Rooskey in January 2020.

A cold case investigation into his death is being led by Detective Superintendent Desmond McTiernan, who renewed an appeal for information during an appearance on RTÉ’s CrimeCall.

Gardaí are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have met Mr Farrell on the night before his death, when he had been drinking in two pubs in Rooskey.

His son Brendan has also issued a renewed appeal for information, including any details relating to the days leading up to his death.
