Homes across Leitrim and the North West saw out the glorious weekend in darkness on Monday evening following thunder and lightning.
Three hundred homes in the North West and Midlands were affected by power cuts on Monday afternoon and evening.
Cavan got hit particularly hard with power outages that lasted for hours, but there were numerous power outages in the Carrick-on-Shannon area, Carrigallen, Drumshanbo, Leitrim Village and across North Leitrim.
Six thousand households across the country were affected at the height of the thunder and lightning storms on Monday.
ESB crews worked through the night on Monday and on Tuesday morning to restore power and all areas were expected to be returned to normal service by yesterday afternoon.
Met Eireann is forecasting today, Wednesday, to be warm and humid with some scattered showers.
The rest of the week looks warm and humid, with the weather turning a bit cooler on Friday with an unsettled weekend predicted.
