Éamon O Cuiv T.D, the grandson of Éamon de Valera will be the guest of honour at a wreath laying ceremony in Kiltyclogher on Sunday, June 19.
The event is being organised by Leitrim Fianna Fáil and will commemorate the life and death of Leitrim's greatest son Séan Mac Diarmada.
Those wishing to take part in the walk from Séan Mac Diarmada's homestead to the village are asked to assemble at the community centre at 1.30.
Transport will be provided to the house and the walk will commence at 2pm sharp.
The ceremony will take place at the monument in the village at 3pm, this will include the reading of the Proclamation and Séan Mac Diarmada's last letter home before his execution.
Éamon O Cuiv T.D will address the gathering and will lay a wreath at the monument.
This will be followed by a musical tribute and refreshments will be served in the community centre. Everyone is welcome to attend.
