Two local men have launched a new charity enterprise from The Hive, Carrick-on-Shannon.
'Location Lotto' the brain child of Barry Walsh from Leitrim Village and David O'Carroll from Cortober is based in Carrick-on-Shannon and is an online weekly lotto which pays out prizes to winners and their chosen charity.
Location Lotto is Ireland's first community focused, charitable online lotto with a guaranteed weekly winner.
The new form of lotto allows people to win weekly and provide the opportunity to give back to numerous charities.
The weekly lotto chooses one eircode each Thursday and guarantees a winner each week. The lotto match 100% of the weekly jackpot and lets the winner chose the charity or cause to receive the benefit.
The first winner last week was located in Limerick and the lucky lady won €500 and had €500 donated to her chosen charity 'Limerick Marine Search and Rescue.'
Barry and David set up the lotto to help charities and causes throughout Ireland, both on a local and national level. Both men have experienced the loss of a close family member. Barry, who works as a Digital Marketing Executive in Sligo lost his father to cancer 18 months ago while David, who works as a graphic designer in Carrick-on-Shannon, was bereaved by the loss of his brother to suicide 10 years ago.
Both men are keen to give something back to organisations such as S.T.O.P (Sligo), for the prevention of self-harm or suicide and the Irish Cancer Society who aim to improve the lives of those affected by cancer and their loved ones.
They are also eager to add any other vital charities which players of Location Lotto feel should benefit from the prize fund.
To play log on to www.LocationLotto.ie and enter your location details including your new, unique “Eircode' postal code which each and every home in the country has been assigned.
With Location Lotto your location is your ticket.
It costs €2 a week and you have the chance of winning from €250 to €20,000.
