The keynote concert in this the 38th year of the O’Carolan festival welcomes the legendary Stockton’s Wing to St. Ronan’s Hall at 9pm on Sunday, July 31.
Playing as well as ever with the infusion of two new band members to complement some of the stalwarts of Irish Trad music of the last few decades. Stockton's Wing began their career in Ennis sometime in 1977 with Kieran Hanrahan, Paul Roche, Maurice Lennon, Tommy Hayes and Tony Callinan.
Mike, Paul, Tommy and Steve are now joined by renowned Clare instrumentalists with Tara Breen on fiddle and Karol Lynch on banjo and mandolin. Tickets are on sale from O’Donnell’s shop in the village and on ocarolanharpfestival.ie
The O’Carolan Harp Festival launch will feature on Roscommon County Matters on Sky 191 and Freesat 400 on Monday July, 25 at 6.30pm. Programme will be repeated on July 27 at 5.30p.m.
