Creative Frame presents 'Making a Living in the Arts' on Thursday, July 28 at 2pm in The Dock.

'Making a Living in the Arts’ is the first in a series of talks that is being organised by Creative Frame, the network for continued professional development for artists and creatives working in Leitrim and the surrounding counties.

A panel of speakers from national organisations representing literature, music and visual art will look at the challenges and obstacles of making a living in the arts in rural Ireland and discuss the resources and supports available for practitioners in their sector.

Guests include Valerie Bistany, Director with The Irish Writers Centre, Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact and Shelly McDonnell, Information and Communications Officer with Visual Artists Ireland.

The presentations and panel discussion will be followed by ‘Table Talk’, an opportunity to informally discuss individual professional development and training needs and professional practice with the relevant agency representative.

This Autumn The Irish Writers Centre, First Music Contact and Visual Artists Ireland will be back to run specialist workshops for Creative Frame.

These workshops will include details on how to get funding fit, pitching your work and ideas, the business of being a writer and money matters for visual artists.

Creative will also be partnering with the Local Enterprise Office in the delivery of social media and marketing training specifically for the creative sector.

Creative Frame is a project of Leitrim County Council Arts Office and Leitrim Local Enterprise Office with the support of ID2015 and the Arts Council.

Creative Frame is a free membership network for artists and creative practitioners based in Leitrim and the surrounding areas.
