Vast majority of Ballinamore Community School Leaving Cert students are happy with their results

While Ballinamore Community School Principal, Padraig Leyden, readily admitted there were "lots of nervous faces" at the school this morning he said that "the vast majority are going to be very happy with their results"

58 students sat the Leaving Certificate at the school for 2015/16 and Mr Leyden said that there were "no failures at all".

Bucking the trend for the increase in poor results in Ordinary Level Maths, students at Ballinamore Community School did well in the subject.

While there were no straight A's achieved this year, students did produce some very good results said the Principal.

"This is a big day for students, it is the beginning of the next stage of their lives and next Monday will also be a big day for them. I would say to students don't panic about your results. The CAO offers will give a clearer picture of the points requirement for each course. Remember that there are other options if you don't get the courses you want," he said.

Mr Leyden paid tribute to the students and staff for tall their hard work over the last few years and also paid a special tribute to the parents who worked to support their children behind the scenes.
