Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) has secured funding of €113,659 to develop the Bóthar na Naomh Heritage and Nature Trail at Cloone, Co Leitrim in partnership with Cloone Tidy Towns Committee.
The funding was awarded by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs as part of the Government’s programme to support rural development.
The project at Bóthar na Naomh will extend the existing heritage and nature trail to facilitate access for coarse angling and kayaking and will provide a number of fishing points along Annaghmaconway Lake. It will also lengthen the current 3.75km walking trail by a further 1.6km to build upon the lake side amenity which is used regularly by locals and tourists.
