There appears to be some confusion over the exact increase in Leitrim's property prices.
Yesterday daft.ie released a report outlining that house prices have risen by 19% in Leitrim while nationally there was an average increase of 7.6% in the year to September 2016.
In Leitrim, prices between July and September 2016 were 19% higher than a year previously, compared to a rise of 5% seen a year ago. The average house price is now €120,000, 40% above its lowest point.
However just to hand is another report which puts the increase at just 10 percent.
MyHome.ie Q3 Property Report in association with Davy are saying Leitrim property prices are up 10% year on year.
While Q3 was a quarter of stable or moderate prices gains across most of the country the picture in Leitrim was more mixed. While the county saw substantial price gains in median prices across all property types – up 10% on the year, at €110K, it is still one of the cheapest counties across Ireland. While the price of 4 bed semis rose by 6% in Q3 to €111K - up 12% year on year – the price of 3 bed semis fell by 6.25% to €75K.
