Recent deaths in the Leitrim area

The following deaths have occurred in the Leitrim area.

Bernadette Spollen (née Wisley)
Railway Tce., Ballinamore, Leitrim. Last remaining survivor of the Carrickmakeegan tragedy 1942. Predeceased by her husband Dermot. She will be sadly missed by her sister Alacoque and brother Brendan, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence until Tuesday at 12 noon. Removal to St. Patrick's Church, Ballinamore, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Burial afterwards in Oughteragh Cemetery, Ballinamore.

Mary (Maisie) McDermott (née Smith), Fairgreen, Belturbet, Co Cavan

Mary (Maisie) McDermott (nee Smith) Fairgreen, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, beloved wife of the late Mel. Monday October 10th 2016, peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff of Medical 1, Cavan General Hospital. Devoted Mother of Brian, Anna and Sean. Sadly missed by her loving family, her sister Vera Niblock, niece, nephew, her many friends in the caring profession, all her relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Tuesday evening from 5 pm concluding with Vigil Prayers at 7.00.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet at 11.00 followed by burial in Annagh cemetery.

Patsy Loughlin, Church Rd, Bundoran, Donegal / Ballyshannon, Donegal

Patsy Loughlin, Church Rd, Bundoran and Rathmore, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal on October 7th 2016, peacefully at University Hospital Sligo. Beloved husband of Ronnie (Travers) and brother of Tony and Vincent. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his late residence Church Rd, Bundoran with removal on Monday morning, Oct 10th, at 10.30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Ninnidh's Cemetery, Newtown Rd, Bundoran.

Joe Rooney, Largy, Manorhamilton, Leitrim

Joe Rooney, Largy, Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. Peacefully at Sligo University Hospital in his 98th year.  Funeral Mass on Monday at the Church of the Annunciation, Mullies, at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Eamonn Mulleady, Windmill Road, Elphin, Roscommon

Bexhill, England and Windmill Road, Elphin, Co. Roscommon. Friday 7th October, tragically, following a road traffic accident. Son of the late Eamonn. Sadly missed by his heartbroken son Joe, daughter Sarah, mother Myra, brothers Clive (Mullingar), Sean and Paul (both New York), uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandniece, relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements later.

Steven Drochmann, Dublin 2, Dublin / Dromod, Leitrim

Drochmann, Steven (Dublin 2 & Dromod, Co. Leitrim) (Native Australia), Thursday 6th Oct. 2016 exceptionally peacefully at St. Vincent's Private Hospital in the presence of his lovely wife Linda (O'Neill) and family. Will be very sadly missed by his lovely wife Linda (O'Neill), his daughter Melanie, his mother Louisa, sister-in-law Louisa, brothers-in-law Matthew and Mark, sister-in-law Audrey, granddaughter, nieces, nephews, relatives Molly, Dexter, Daisy and very many friends. Steven will be very sadly missed.

Removal on Monday, 10th October, to St. Mary's Church, Haddington Road arriving for 12.40pm. Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Focus Ireland or Cancer Research Ireland.

Seamus Cassserly, Cavetown, Croghan, Boyle, Roscommon

Suddenly at Sligo General Hospital. Deeply regretted by his sons James and John, daughter-in-laws Rosemary and Hazel, grandchildren Darragh, Rachel, Nathan, Karina, sister-in-law Celia, nephews, nieces, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Requiem Mass on Monday in St Michael's Church, Croghan, at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards to Caldra cemetery. House strictly private at all other times please.
