The local Lions Club, FoodCloud and Tesco Ireland are asking shoppers to support families in need by donating a food item during a two-day Christmas Food Appeal, which will take place on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 between 11am – 7.30pm in Tesco Carrick-on-Shannon and Tesco Ballinamore.
In the last three years alone the annual Christmas Food Appeal has collected over €500,000 worth of food for families. Over €2,300 worth of food was donated by Leitrim shoppers in 2015, and this year the appeal is hoping to build on this success and support as many families in need as possible by providing hampers of non-perishable food items in the run-up to Christmas.
To support the Christmas Food Appeal and give a little help to families in need, please visit your local Tesco store on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 between 11am – 7.30pm and make a food donation.
Shoppers can donate one or more of the following items in their local Tesco store:
· Tea bags & Instant coffee
· Breakfast Cereals
· Tinned goods (vegetables, fruit, fish, meat)
· Pasta & Paste Sauces
· Rice & Rice Pudding
· Soft drinks
· Sweet Treats
· Selection Boxes
