The following deaths have occurred in the Leitrim area:

Kathleen Lowe (née Ward), Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim

Kathleen Lowe (nee Ward), Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon and formerly Rosharry, Mohill, Co Leitrim. December 2, 2016 (peacefully) at home in her 87th Year. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Brendan, brother Sean and Albertine. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sons John, Chris and Brendan, daughters Marie and Michelle, sister Maura, brothers Mike-Joe and Seamus, brother-in-law Jimmy, sisters-in-law Margaret, Teresa and Nora. Sadly missed by Helen, Louise, Sean, Catherine and Fiona, by her grandchildren Mark, Kevin, Shane, Mathew, Kirsten, Kate, Sarah, Eli and Ruben, great-grandchildren Samantha and Scott, nephew Gerard, nieces Kathleen, Helen, Patricia, Joan and Regina, relatives and a large circle of friends. Reposing at her home tomorrow, Saturday from 1pm until 5pm with removal to St.Mary's Church, Carrick-on-Shannon arriving at 6.30pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Sunday at 12 noon with funeral afterwards to St.Mary's Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the North West Hospice, Sligo or Irish Cancer Society. House private from 5pm on Saturday evening please.

James McKenna, Kiltycreevagh, Ballinamuck, Co Longford

Friday, December 2, at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Mary Ann. Deeply regretted by his sister Mary, brother-in-law Dave, niece Laura and family, cousins, relatives and a large circle of friends. Reposing at the residence of his cousin, Pat and Breege Donnelly, Kiltycreevagh, on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm with removal to St Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm, followed by burial in Ballinamuck new cemetery. House private from 6pm on Saturday.


Bridie McKeon, Adoon, Cloone, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Bridie McKeon, Adoon, Cloone, Co. Leitrim suddenly Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Predeceased by her brother Tom (Cloone) and her sisters May Heslin (Ballinamuck) and Anna Lena (England). Deeply regretted by her brother Patrick (Dublin), sisters; Jennie (Cloone), Lily McIntyre (Ballyconnell), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Remains to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Cloone on Saturday for funeral mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.


Michael Kelly, Ballinabull, Leckaun, Co Leitrim

Michael Kelly, Ballinabull, Newtownmanor, Co Leitrim, peacefully at Arus Breffni, Manorhamilton. Remains reposing at Arus Breffni on Sunday evening from 6pm - 7.15pm with removal to Mary Mother of God Church, Newtownmanor to arrive at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am with burial afterwards in Carrickatemple Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to Arus Breffni patient comfort fund c/o Connolly & McDonald Funeral Directors, Manorhamilton.


Phonsie Rooney, Carrickeeney, Glencar, Co Leitrim

Peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo. Deeply regretted by his brothers Micheal and Aiden sisters Ita (Connolly) Gretta, Dympna and Martha (Hamilton), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Funeral Mass today, Saturday at 11am. Burial afterwards in Diffreen Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to North West Hospice, Sligo.

Phil Thomas Fitzpatrick, Drumgowla, Cloone, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Phil Thomas Fitzpatrick, Drumgowla, Cloone, Co. Leitrim, Thursday December 1, 2016 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, Maura, sons; Brendan, Kevin and Ciarán, sisters; Anna (Longford) and Joan (Aughawillan), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law Nicole, grandson, Dillon, nephew, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large cirle of friends. Reposing at his residence from 6pm today, Friday, 2nd December, 2016 until removal on Saturday evening to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Cloone at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 2pm with burial afterwards to the adjoining cemetery. House private from 2pm on Saturday please. Please note there will be no 10am Mass in Cloone on Sunday morning.


Elizabeth Lavin, Termon Road, Boyle, Co Roscommon

Peacefully at the Plunket Home, Boyle on Monday, November 28, 2016. Sadly missed by her family, relatives and friends. Reposing at Mahon's Funeral Home, Boyle. Removal Saturday morning to St.Joseph's Church, Boyle for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards to Assylynn Cemetery. 

Darren Mitchell, London and, Loughglynn, Co Roscommon

Suddenly in London. Darren will be sadly missed by his dad, Henry and wife Mary, his sister Siobhan, nephew Jamie, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours and friends. Darren will repose at the Ganley Funeral Home, Loughglynn on Saturday from 6pm until 8pm with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Loughglynn arriving at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Cuiltyboe Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Pieta house, c/o Kevin Ganley Funeral Director, Loughglynn. Michael (Haulie) McDonnell, Palmfield, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon

December 2, 2016 (unexpectedly) at Roscommon University Hospital; Michael (better known as Haulie). He will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, son Tony (Mountbellew, Co. Galway), daughter Carmel (Flaherty, Glann, Co. Sligo), grandchildren, his sister Mary (Durkin, Glosh, Carracastle), daughter-in-law Helena, son-in-law William, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. Reposing in The Kilgarriff Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen, Sunday evening from 5pm to conclude with evening prayer at 7.30pm. Funeral will arrive to St James' Chuch, Carracastle, Monday, December 5 for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Carracastle Cemetery.
