Today's Trolley Watch figures for the four hospitals in this region show that 53 patients are currently on trolleys.
Sligo University Hospital has 23 patients on trolleys, Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe 16, Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar 12, and Cavan General Hospital 2.
Nationally, there are currently 536 people on trolleys, according to the Irish Nurses' and Midwives Organisation.
