All Leitrim  referendum posters must be down in one week

Leitrim Co Co Litter Warden will issue fines to posters up longer than 7 days

Leitrim County Council have announced that all referendum posters in Leitrim have seven days to be taken down.

Senior Engineer Darragh O'Boyle at Leitrim County Council has warned that "Litter wardens will be out and issuing fines for any poster left up" by next Tuesday, June 5.

Mr O'Boyle made the announcement in Ballinamore today, May 28 at Ballinamore Municipal Meeting when speaking about regulations around temporary signage.

Mr O'Boyle said the posters must be removed seven days from the vote, and with next Monday being a Bank Holiday the campaigners have an extra day to avoid any fines.

Mr O'Boyle said the council do allow non commercial posters for an event to be erected seven days before an event, but they must be removed seven days following the event to avoid any fine.
