Three members of stag party charged with possession of cocaine appear before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court

Carrick-on-Shannon District Court hears victim was punched, kicked and 'mauled' by woman

Three members of the one stag party appeared before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on May 22, each charged with possession of cocaine.


Liam McCarrick, 4 Rathanna, Pearse Road, Sligo was charged with possession of €25 worth of cocaine on July 29, 2017 at Main St, Carrick-on-Shannon.


The 39-year-old father of one was apologetic. Judge Kevin Kilrane said the defendant was a “bit long in the tooth to be messing around with stag parties and cocaine.” He was ordered to pay €100 to Hope House and the charge was struck out.
Fergus McDonnell, Tonaphubble, Sligo was charged with the same offence.


He had a previous conviction for assault. He was ordered to pay €200 to Hope House and the case was adjourned to Sligo District Court on May 24.


Ian Monaghan, 3 Ashbrook, Pearse Road, Sligo was also charged with the same offence.
The 39-year-old has nine previous convictions for public order. He was ordered to pay €200 to Hope House and the charge was struck out.
