A STATUS ORANGE Thunder Warning for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo has just been declared by Met Eireann this afternoon.
Localized severe thunderstorm activity in these areas are expected over the next few hours.
Locals should prepare for torrential downpours and lightning strikes
The STATUS ORANGE warning is in place from 1-7pm today, Friday, June 1.
There is also a STATUS YELLOW warning in place for the county today with high intensity rainfall in scattered thunderstorms leading to spot flooding. Between 25 and 50 mm of rainfall possible locally in short periods.
