BREAKING: Gardai investigating report of sexual assault in Drumcoura
Gardai are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a female at the Cowboys and Heroes Festival, Drumcoura, Co Leitrim at the weekend.
Gardai received a report from management of the festival on Saturday morning, June 2 at 6.30am. The injured party was staying in the camping area of the festival when an uninvited male entered her tent. An alleged sexual assault took place.
The culprit fled the scene and Gardai are seeking information in relation to the iddentity of the male.

The festival's management condemned the incident in a strongly worded statement.
Organiser Simon Power said he went to the scene when alerted by festival security at around 5am and spoke to the alleged victim and her friends. He said that while it was his understanding that the woman was not raped, she was subjected to "an abhorrent act and an inexcusable violation" by "a drunken idiot".
Gardai said they made two arrests at the festival, one for breach of the peace and another for public order. Gardai are also investigating a report of assault at the venue at the weekend.
Despite these incidents, Superintendent Kevin English has complimented the management on a well run event that attracted thousands of people at the weekend.
