Four new Leitrim Gardai graduate from Templemore
Four gardai from Leitrim are among 185 who passed out at Templemore College at the weekend.
The 185 garda graduates have spent the last 34 weeks preparing for life in the force and will be deployed to stations across the country .
Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan attended the passing out ceremony at Templemore College in Tipperary last Friday, September 7 where he said the success of the current recruitment campaign means there’ll be less of a need to rely on garda overtime in future.
From Leitrim, Jack Cullen from Ballinamore will be stationed in Clondalkin, John Reynolds from Gorletteragh will be based in Letterkenny, David Stenson from Eslin is on his way to Clontarf and Caitriona Keaney from Kiltyclogher is moving to Navan.
An Garda Siochána is growing by around 500 every year, with a target of 21 thousand staff in total by 2021.
