Storm Callum update in Leitrim

Storm Callum off the coast of Ireland

Storm Callum seems to have passed over Leitrim without much damage.

While motorists and pedestrians are advised to be careful as branches and debris are still being moved by high winds, there are no reports of any major damage or road blocks.

There are less than 50 homes without power in the Leitrim region today due to the storm.

33 houses in Carrick-on-Shannon and 22 houses in the Arigna area are without power today due to a planned service interruption. ESB estimates it will be 6pm this evening before power is fully restored.

Eslewhere Bawnboy in Cavan has 30 homes without power, there are also 42 homes in the Collooney area of Sligo in the dark today. All power should be restored by 6pm this evening.

Met Éireann said the strong winds will continue for the morning, with the Status Orange warnings for Storm Callum remaining in place until 5pm for northwestern coastal areas.
