Mandate Members strike at Tesco Carrick-on-Shannon

An organised strike by Mandate members at Tesco Carrick-on-Shannon was “suspended” at the weekend following a development in the dispute.

Local Mandate Organiser Ciaran Campbell said the decision to suspend the strike which was organised for last Saturday at Sligo and Carrick-on-Shannon Tesco stores, came about late last Thursday evening.
Mr Campbell said management at Tesco Ireland have agreed to jointly refer the local dispute to the Workplace Relations Commission.

Mandate were meeting with Tesco workers at both stores this week to get the go ahead from staff to proceed down this path.
Mr Campbell said if workers agree with this route “we will be looking for an urgent hearing.”
