The following deaths have occurred in Leitrim and surrounding areas:

Tom Guckian, Kiltoghert, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim

Tom Guckian (Retired staff of the E.S.B), Kiltoghert, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. February 1st 2019 (suddenly) at home. Predeceased by his parents Una and Laurence. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Tina, daughters Lorraine and Lisa, grandson James, brothers Joe and Patsy, sister Mary B. Mulvey (Butlersbridge, Co.Cavan), brothers-in-law Michael, Johnny, Charlie, Seamus, Martin, Sean and P.J, sisters-in-law Mary, Maggie, Phil, Margaret, Clare, Maura and Bernadette, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at his home today, Saturday, from 2 o'clock until 6 o'clock and on Sunday from 2 o'clock until 6 o'clock. Removal to St. Patrick's Church, Gowel on Monday morning to arrive for Mass of Christian Burial at 12 o'clock with funeral afterwards to Kiltoghert Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if so desired, to Irish Motor Neuron Association ( House private outside of reposing times and private on Monday morning please.

Teresa (Tessie) Rooney, Dooard, Rossinver, Co. Leitrim

Funeral Mass today, Saturday, at 11am in St. Aidan’s Church, Ballaghameehan, followed by burial in Rossinver Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to The Patient Comfort Fund, the Rock Nursing Home, Ballyshannon. 

Nora Flanagan, Arigna, Co. Roscommon

Nora Flanagan, née Gilroy, Arigna, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Roscommon, January 31st 2019 (peacefully) at her home, surrounded by her devoted family. Predeceased by her husband Patrick, daughters Margaret and Bridie. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons Pat and Thomas, daughters Maureen, Carmel and Catherine, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon on Saturday evening from 4.30 o’clock until 7.30 o’clock. Removal to Church of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. Arigna on Sunday afternoon arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 2.00 o’clock. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Please note there will be no 10.00 o’clock Mass in Arigna Church on Sunday

John Gerard Mullany, Glanmire, Cork / Boyle, Co. Roscommon

John Gerard (Gerry) Mullany, Glanmire, Cork and late of Boyle, Co. Roscommon, on January 31, 2019, peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Mercy University Hospital. Retired Garda Síochána. Devoted husband to Helen (Fennessy), loving father of Maurice and adored grandad to Luke. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, grandson, daughter-in-law Amy, brothers Tom and Kieran, sister Phil, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and his large circle of friends. Lying in repose at Barry Bros. Funeral Home, Hazelwood, Glanmire. Removal at 4.30pm on Saturday to St. Joseph’s Church, Springhill. Requiem Mass at 11.00 on Monday. Funeral afterwards to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Little Island. May he rest in peace

Michael McHugh, Harlesdon, London and formerly of Gubaveeney, Blacklion, Co. Cavan, in London on Thursday, 13th December, 2018. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, sons Michael and Gary, brothers John Joe, Paddy and Peter, granddaughter Emily and a wide circle of friends. Funeral mass on Sunday, 3rd February, at 11.30am in the Church of the Immaculate Coneception, Doobally, Dowra, Co. Cavan followed by burial of ashes in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Rosemarie (nee McBrien), son Kevin (daughter-in-law Emma), daughters Lorraine (son-in-law Charlie), Caroline (son-in-law Steve) and Michelle, grandchildren Tadhg, Lauren, Sadhbh, Cillian, Cian, Charlie, Ryan, James and Claire, brothers Patsy and Frankie, sisters Phyllis, Josie, Patricia, Kathleen and Carmel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Remains arriving at St Mary's, Swanlinbar on Saturday at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 2pm (Please note time of Mass).

The death has occurred in England of Sean Dixon, known as Seany, Preston, Lancashire. Cherished son of Andy and Kitty (nee Devitt) and loving brother to Andrew and Angi. A funeral service will be held in Preston.

Ultan Emmett, Ballyfarnon, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, January 30th 2019 (unexpectedly) at his residence, Predeceased by parents J.T. and Tessie, brothers Matthew, Ciarán and Enda, sister Marion. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers Brendan, Gerard, Noel and Paul, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours. Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon on Saturday from 12.00 noon until 1.40 o’clock. Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyfarnon arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 2.00 o’clock. Interment afterwards in Kilmactranny Cemetery.
