Special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court was held at the weekend
A Leitrim man appeared at a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court at the weekend charged with false imprisonment, robbery and burglary.
The 30-year-old man who was arrested on Friday, appeared before the special court on Saturday presided over by Judge Kevin Kilrane. He is charged with false imprisonment, robbery and burlgary in the Dromahair- Manorhamilton area last Thursday, March 6.
It is alleged that the man falsely imprisoned another man in his 20s in his car, tied him up and then proceeded to drive to his victim's home which he is alleged to have burglarised, taking a TV and other items. He is also charged with robbery of the man, he took cash and personal property.
The local man was remanded in custody to appear before Manorhamilton District court this Wednesday, March 13. His application for bail was also adjourned to Wednesday.
Gardai told the paper this was a "serious incident."
