Groom to be arrested at stag part in Carrick-on-Shannon

Garda injured during incident at Main St, Carrick-on-Shannon

A groom to be and his brother from Enniskillen were arrested for public order offences in Carrick-on-Shannon at the weekend.

One member of Carrick-on-Shannon Gardai was assaulted and another received injuries during the incident at the Town Clock, Main St, Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday night, March 8.
The men from Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh were part of a stag party to the town at the weekend. They appeared before a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on Saturday, March 9.

The father of the two accused males traveled to the court and gave a number of undertakings, the men were released on bail to appear before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on April 16.

Superintendent Kevin English said one garda is now off duty due to injuries  sustained in the incident and he said this behavior cannot be condoned.
