There is plenty of reasons to celebrate at Leitrim Animal Welfare today as news that the organisation has won a Charity of the Year competition run by Burns Pet Nutrition, has begun to filter through.
In a social media post, Leitrim Animal Welfare confirmed the good news noting that "John Burns himself will be here at the centre (next) Tuesday to present an award to our centre director, Christine to recognise all the hard work by all of our staff in all weathers 365 days a year.
"We will also receive a substantial amount of food from Burns pet Nutrition as part of winning. We are Honoured that we have been chosen as charity of the year and it makes all that work that happens behind the scenes all the more worthwhile to be recognised for it. Big thank you to John Burns and all his staff for Choosing LAW as number one."
