Annaduff Recreational Development & Annaduff GAA launch "Sponsor a Square" - GALLERY

Annaduff GAA club and Annaduff Recreation Development launched an ambitious “Sponsor a Square” project last Saturday evening to raise €100,000 to provide a Multi User Games Area, a recreational walkway and a designated children’s playground area at Stanley Cox Park.

Catering for the ever growing areas of Dromod, Annaduff and Drumsna, the Annaduff Recreational Development (ARD) hopes to deliver a state of the art recreational amenity, located at Annaduff GAA grounds, that will be enjoyed by those communities for generations to come.

To help them fund the ambitious project, Annaduff GAA and ARD last Saturday launched their “Sponsor a Square” initiative in Taylor's Bar Drumsna which entails seeking square of our pitch plan for €100 with a draw for the winning squares. All squares purchased will be entered into the draw.

The name ARD not only represents Annaduff Recreational Development but also neatly captures the essence of the project. “A” stands for Astroturf, a 40 x 20 metre multi-user games area which has already started work. This element of the project will cost €130,000.

“R” is for recreational walkway for the community with bollard lighting in 2023 which will cost approximately €91,000 while “D” is for Designated Children's Playground Area 2024 which will cost approximately €81,000.

So far, the project has received €40,000 in Sports Capital funding and €6,000 in Connacht GAA Council grants for the multi-user games area, a further €63,000 Sports Capital funding for the walkway and a €100,000 Croke Park Development Loan. They have also applied for a €50,000 grant under the CLAR 2022 scheme.

To help them meet the costs of the project and to help repay the Croke Park Development loan, Annaduff GAA & ARD are appealing to their community, members and Annaduff diaspora all over the world to support the project and ensure its success.

Any donation great or small besides those for the purchase of squares for the draw would also be greatly appreciated.
