'A lovely lady with a big heart' - Tributes paid to Leitrim grandmother following passing

Tributes have been paid after the sad passing of a Letrim woman.

Rose O'Donnell, Laughta, Kinlough, and formerly of Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim, passed away peacefully on December 5 in the exceptional care of Ballyshannon Community Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Rose is predeceased by her loving husband Adrian and her son Edward. Her passing is a source of great sadness and she will be “forever missed by her son Shane, daughters Aisling and Loretta, daughter in law, sons in law, her sister Winnie, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,” according to her death notice on RIP.ie.

Her funeral mass took place on Saturday last in St Aidan's Church, Kinlough followed by burial in St Aidan's Cemetery.

Tributes have been paid on RIP.ie with one friend saying: "Sincere condolences to all in Rose's family, she was a lovely lady with a big heart. May she rest in peace and rise in glory."

Another tribute read: "Sincere condolences to Shane, Fionnuala and family on the sad passing of your mum Rose, our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time."

A third tribute read: "To Shane, Aisling, Loretta, Winnie and all the extended O’Donnell and Gallagher families, we send our heartfelt condolences to you all at this really sad time. Rose was a great neighbour and friend of our family, a kind-hearted lady to all. 

"May she be at rest now with her beloved Adrian and Edward. Rest in peace, dear Rose."
