Lovely Leitrim looked its very best as county basks in summer sunshine

The recent good weather which has seen Leitrim basking in glorious sunshine and registering temperatures higher than many parts of continental Europe has provided a perfect opportunity to showcase 'Lovely Leitrim' looking its finest.

Throughout the county pictures were taken, stunning locations were snapped and selfies were posed for as locals and visitors alike made the best of the glorious weather.

The floating boardwalk in Drumshanbo has proved to be a very popular amenity since it was opened to the public and this picture illustrates just why.

The calmness of Glencar Lake, located beneath the famous waterfall is as popular with the local wildlife as it is with the tourists who visit the area.

Creevelea Abbey in Dromahair looked incredible as the sun shone on the remains of the old friary.

The sun shone brightly in Jamestown for the annual Heritage Festival.
