On the Glens Run again!

‘Walk, run or crawl! We need you out to support our three worthy charities and to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever.’

‘Walk, run or crawl! We need you out to support our three worthy charities and to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever.’

That’s the message from the organisers of the North Leitrim Glens Run on Saturday, September 8 in Manorhamilton. Every family experiences the effects of sickness or accidents at some time.

Now more than ever community funding is needed to assist organisations and families who support those with ongoing needs. By walking or running competitively or just for fun on September 8 you will make a significant contribution to the work of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alzheimer’s Ireland and the Lydia Branley Trust.

Costs of running this professional event are very high but the organisers say that every effort is being made to cut down on overheads so that maximum funding can go to the named and most worthy charities. This is being greatly helped by all the generous sponsors including the main sponsor Gilbert’s Pharmacy.

So the message is, get registered now by post or on line. Saturday the September 8 is the date for you to hook up with friends or have a family reunion, and to make this a genuinely hospitable, community event which also focuses on health and fitness and promotes the North Leitrim Glens.

Co. Sligo international athlete with many strong North Leitrim family links, Mary Cullen will launch the event again having unfortunately had to pull out of 2012 Olympics due to injury. Register on the link for the third annual North Glens Run (Half Marathon or 10k) here
