Though quiet from the outside, training has continued apace for the members and coaches of Carrick Rowing Club throughout this long, cold January.

Though quiet from the outside, training has continued apace for the members and coaches of Carrick Rowing Club throughout this long, cold January.

Many of our athletes will now face their first major test of 2013 in Sligo on Saturday next. Carrick RC continues to support our nearest neighbour with a large entry of crews across age ranges from Junior 15 to novice and intermediate men and women. The event is organised as a time trial and is run over three and a half kilometers of the Garavogue River.

We are looking forward to some great performances on the day and getting 2013 off to a winning start.
Preparations continue for our annual Head of the River, to be held on Saturday, February 23. There will be two trials on the day, one each in the morning and afternoon and we would appreciate any help to ensure a safe and fun event for all visitors to the town and club.
