A great turnout considering it was only two days since the trials. Some great games and in the first semi final Stephen Gannon showed his current form to take the win over the consistent Robert Mulvey. In the second semi, Colm Mulvey got the better of Gene Connelly.
The final was a match to crown any darts night. After winning the toss Gannon holds in 16 darts. Mulvey then holds with a 15 darter. In the third leg Mulvey breaks Gannons throw with a 16 darter and makes no mistake on his own throw with a 14 darter to take first prize and the 8 ranking points.
Thanks to Pauline for running the show all night and to David Carthy for his ongoing sponsorship and the lovely food on the night.
Table: Colm Mulvey 31, Stephen Gannon 21, Brian Kelly 20, Robert Mulvey 17, Conor Scollan 17, David Bohan, Liam Aldridge & Gene Connelly all 11. The top 5 look safe for the final at this stage but in behind those on 11 are Bobby Mulvey 10, Declan McGoldrick 9. Tim Duignan 8, Mick Crosbie 8, Ray Mulvey 7, Jim Rock 6.
One night left after last night so its all to play for after Christmas! Top eight qualify for finals night and a pot of €800 approx. The last night takes place in Carthys on Sunday January 5, at 9pm with the final on Tuesday January 7, with a 9.30pm start.
The committee at Leitrim Darts would like to wish all our players and two main sponsors Carthys Lock 17 Leitrim Village and Quinns Bar/Gala Fenagh a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
