Carrick-on-Shannon Tennis Club host Open Day next Sunday

Carrick Tennis club will be holding an Open day on Sunday May 11, from 2-6pm at Carrick Tennis Club to launch our eventful season ahead.

Carrick Tennis club will be holding an Open day on Sunday May 11, from 2-6pm at Carrick Tennis Club to launch our eventful season ahead.

All the family young and old are very welcome to come along and enjoy this free event. Club members and committee members will be at hand with refreshments aplenty, play a few games, answer any queries and also to sign up or renew memberships.

We are also delighted to announce that our new professional club coach from The Jamie Stafford Tennis Academy will be present at the Open Day.

Jamie will be demonstrating all the latest range of coaching equipment including ball machines, offering advice on player equipment and also offering free one to one coaching lessons on the day.

Tennis rackets and balls of all sizes will be available on the day but please bring along your own if you would like Jamie to assess it.

We are hoping to attract players from age 4 upwards and will cater for complete beginners: course covers Technical, Tactical, Physical & Psychological skills relating to tennis, Singles & Doubles Tactics, Forehand, Backhand, Serve, Smash, Volley, How to Rally, Rules Of The Game, Co-ordination & Ball skills); Intermediate: course covers: Physical Exercises Relating to Tennis, How To Play a Match, Technical, Tactical, Physical & Psychological skills relating to tennis, Singles & Doubles Tactics.

Advanced: course covers: Advanced level match tactics, Technical, Tactical, Physical & Psychological skills relating to tennis, Singles & Doubles Tactics.

This six-week course of lessons will start on Wednesday, May 14, from 4pm (full details will of times to follow) and will cost €59 for club members and €64 for non-members, bookings can be made on line at www.jsta.ie/junior_coaching.html#carrick (senior) or at the open day.
