The last meeting attracted a huge crowd and with next Tuesday’s meeting (August 5) traditionally one of the best supported, Roscommon could potentially stage its most successful raceday of the year. The first white flag will be raised at 5.35. This is an all national hunt meeting and once again the first three-year-old hurdle race of the year in Ireland takes place at Roscommon. The card is made up of three hurdle races, three steeplechases and a bumper.

The last meeting, a two-day festival that included ladies day, attracted a huge crowd and manager Michael Finneran hopes this trend continues on Tuesday.

At this meeting, there is a Best Dressed Male competition with the winner receiving a €500 voucher from Edward Donnellan & Co., Roscommon, so it will be the turn of the ladies to go and see the gentlemen show their style on the day.

Admission: Adults €13; OAP/Students €8. Enquiries to roscommonracecourse@eircom.net, 087 2203288 or www.roscommonracecourse.ie.
