Gings remain on top in Lee Shield

Having led 9-6 in the first round, Gings proved themselves worthy winners with a final scoreline of 16 frames to Club F’s 8. Padraig McKeon, Tommie Farrell, Barry Miley, man of the match, Marty Brady and Tommy Farrell all won frames with Marly Brady and Padraig McKeon clinching victory for a delighted Gings team and supporters. Presenting the Leitrim Crystal trophies, John Casey thanked both teams for the very sporting games throughout the season and the hospitality shown by all the pubs taking part. Paul Lee, son of the late Oliver, presented the Oliver Lee Memorial Shield to a delighted Padraig Hanley, captain of Gings. Padraig thanked Club F and all the teams they played in the run up to the final. He thanked the team for their great commitment.

John W. McCarthy Memorial Cup: In the semi-final, Taylor’s of Drumsna & Monica’s/Leitrim Inn combined fought out a draw at 15 frames apiece.The replay will take place on Sunday week in a neutral venue to be decided.

Inter County Junior and Ranking Tour: County Leitrim can feel very proud having two U18 teams and three U15s under the management of Colin Crossan taking part in the Inter County Pool Championships in Castlebar over the next weekend. The LPA wish all participants the best of luck in both events.
