Special Needs: The car wash and pool tournament in aid of St. Ciaran’s Services, Carrick-on-Shannon for children and adults with special needs and Childhood Days, Drumshanbo was a great success.

Organised by the Leitrim Pool Association, this annual pool tournament was held in Carthy’s, Leitrim Village with Gavin Donnelly victorious over Keith Conlon in the final winning five frames to three.

Keith, winner of the Shane Barry Cup is a County Junior player from Dromahair had two byes to reach the quarter-final playing Hugh Moffat, winning three-two and defeating fellow county player Daragh O’Shea four-three in a black ball finish.

Gavin who is Secretary of the LPA defeated Liam Shanley two-one in the first round, Stephen Gordon three-one, Jamie Gaffney three-two and Jeremiah Coulter four-three in the semi-final.

Car Wash: Kindly giving the use of car wash facilities McCormack’s Leitrim and Drumshanbo was a great success and the LPAs Chairman John Casey thanked the members who gave their time voluntarily, all who took their vehicles in for the wash. Money raised from both came to €1350 and John thanked McCormack’s and all associated in recessionary times.

County Pool League: The second half of the league commences this Thursday & Friday, December 13/14. Group A- Mulvey’s v Taylor’s Friday, Blue Devon v Cardiff’s B, Thursday with Club F and Duignan’s Bye. Group B Cardiff’s A v Shivnan’s Friday, Monica’s v Leitrim Inn, Thursday, The Venue v Carthy’s Thursday and the Central Bye.

First named teams home venue.
