On Friday, December 7, Carrick-on-Shannon Rowing Club held its Junior Christmas Dinner in Cryan’s Hotel.

It was a lovely meal accompanied by the previous Junior members of the club, coaches and Novice rowers. Carrick Rowing Club would like to congratulate Jordan Mulvey on receiving Junior Club person of the year and Caroline Kelly for Junior Oars person 2012. We would like to thank the coaches for all the time and dedication they put in the club.

Carrick Rowing Club for a long time has been a senior rowing club, however we are now seeing the influence of young people around the club. They bring youth and enthusiasm to the club.

We are also hosting a charity row this Saturday, December 15, outside Glancy’s SuperValu, in aid of the North West Simon Community & St. Vincent De Paul, Carrick on Shannon. Club members will be starting at 10am and taking part in the challenge “Row Malin to Mizen” which is over 550km long! It will be taking place throughout the day and we hope for a great turnout.
