Ladies Section: Roscommon Inter-Club scramble: Thanks to Sinead Devine Lady Captain at Ballaghaderreen Golf Club who has done great work this year in encouraging golfers (beginners and experienced players) from all local clubs to meet for a relaxed scramble. Our thanks also to Boyle Golf Club for their great hosting of last Saturday’s Scramble.

AGM: The Ladies AGM will be held on Friday October 11. See notice in LLR.

Allen Gaels

Congratulations to Breda Travers and Brid O’Sullivan on their fantastic win in the Daily Mail. This was a wonderful achievement. Breda has been playing great golf over the last few years and showed how good she was this year on holidays. Brid has also been playing well and has great experience. On behalf of Allen Gaels, well done.

Captain’s Prize: This Saturday in Slieve Russell Golf Club. Tee-off 11am. See you there for coffee at 10am.

After winning a stableford competition in June, Edmund Leonard disappeared from view. However, Edmund returned last week to win the final monthly medal with an impressive net 66. Francis O’Reilly, another of the disappeared, shot a net 68 to take the runner-up spot on countback from Blacklion’s quiet man Gerry Hickey. Result: 1. Edmund Leonard 66, 2. Francis O’Reilly 68, 3. Gerry Hickey 68, Gross. Ciaran Maguire 76 (playing off 7), Front 9: Tom O’Connor 32, Back 9: Ashley Sheerin 34.5

Winter League: There are only two weeks left until the draw is mad. Lists are still on the notice board.
