Sligo races to support Special Olympics at May 23, meeting

The first National Hunt Card of the season at Sligo Racecourse will take place on Monday May 23, and will benefit some of Ireland's most extraordinary athletes.

The evening meeting will start at 5.55 pm. Racegoers can make it over to the track after work and enjoy a splendid evening of fun and excitement spurred on by the competitiveness of the National Hunt Horses.

However, the Horses are not the only Stars expected at Sligo Races on Monday 23.

The wonderful Stars of the Special Olympics are coming into the Races and we are delighted to welcome them. No doubt they will proudly wear their Gold, silver and bronze medals from last year’s World Games in Los Angeles.

The athlete oath for the Special Olympics sums up the spirit of the movement - “Let me win but if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt”.

County Sligo Races is proud to be affiliated with Special Olympics and will be contributing a percentage of the gate on Monday May 23, 2016 to this very worthy sporting organisation.

Don’t miss the opportunity to help support Special Olympics
