Lough Key Triathlon Club

Saturday Cycle: This Saturday we will be leaving Esquires at 07.30. Route 1 Esquires - Ballinamore - Carrick, approx 45km; Route 2 Esquires - Ballinamore - Glangevlin - Dowra - Drumkerrin - Carrick, approx 100km.

Try-a-Tri: Last Sunday’s event went really well with nearly 50 participants. Many thanks to the competitors and marshals for all making it an excellent day. Also to our sponsors Aura Leitrim Leisure, Leitrim Sports Partnership, Murtagh’s Bar, Feelystons (who provided the Trophies), Trial Blazers, Lough Key Centre, Boyle TM, Kieran’s Pharmacy, Leitrim Physiotherapy, Langan Fruit and Veg, Joe Simon, Esquires. Results: Mens: 1st Mark Kelly, 2nd Keith McLoughlin, 3rd George Mullan; Womens 1st Louise Mulvaney, 2nd Michelle Lannon 3rd Helen McLoughlin. Well done to all particpants on completing their first traithlon, we hoep to see you all out training again soon.

Open Water Swims: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 07.15 in Lough Key Forest Park. Other members are swimming at various other times, if you are interested in joing them then email loughkeytriclub@gmail.com. Remember never to swim alone in Lough Key

Runs Sessions: Monday in Carrick at 6.15 with Roy from Aura; Wednesday in Boyle at the Drum Road at 6.15.

Full Sprint Triathlon training: Starting on Sunday mornings at 8 am with a 750 metre swim in Lough Key followed by a 25km Cycle around the lake and then a 5km forest run

Spiddal Traithlon: Best of Luck to all members competing in this event next Sunday, hopefully the conditions are better then last year.
