The annual Lough Allen Cycle in aid of Special Olympics Connaught is taking place on Sunday, September 14.

The annual Lough Allen Cycle in aid of Special Olympics Connaught is taking place on Sunday, September 14.

Now in its second year, cyclists of all levels are encouraged to participate in the 70km sportive. This event is perfect for the seasoned cyclists and will take in breath-taking scenery around Lovely Leitrim’s Lough Allen region.

Registration for The Lough Allen Cycle costs €30 per cyclist and this event is chip timed. Professional support will be provided along the route with roadside assistance, support vehicles and refreshment stops.

The cycle will commence at The Lough Allen Hotel at 9:15am and will take in Dowra, Drumkeerin, Leitrim Village, Kilclare, Drumcong before returning back to The Lough Allen Hotel.

Registration is now open at www.specialolympics.ie and will also open from 7:30 am on the morning of the cycle. There will be prizes on the day.
