Ladies Section: Winter Alliance this Saturday, October 19. We wish Alliance Captains Ann Cox and Marie Leyden all the best for the winter season. The Winter Alliance is a great chance to meet and play with others from surrounding clubs. Ann and Marie look forward to welcoming you all next Sat (19th Oct) for the first fixture on the Winter Alliance Calendar. Tee Times 11-Noon.

Turkey competition: Turkey Season opened on Sunday and runs to December 15. Best three cards to count. Entry Fee is only €5 and you can play as often as you like. Holes 1-7 and 12-18. See notice in LLR.

2013 Golfer of the year: Hats off to Mary Molloy who wins 2013 Golfer Of The Year. Mary is certainly rounding off the year in style as she also wins both the 2013 Silver Spoon, and the 2013 Bronze Medal. We also add congratulations too to Siobhan Talbot winner of the 2013 Silver Medal.

Men’s Senior Section: The winner last week was Tommy Kenoy with 41 pts. Runner-up was Eamon Costello with 40pts with Michael Comerton claiming 3rd spot on the back nine. Team prize went to Johnny Martin, Paul Matthews and Joe Flynn. Just to remind all that our October outing is to Strandhill Golf Club on Monday October 21, at 11am. Finally delighted to hear that Tom Crowe and Shane Keville are well on the way to recovery after their recent setbacks and look forward to their return in 2014. See you all on Thursday at the usual time.


Final of scramble: A great day was had by all who attended last Sunday for the final 9 hole scramble of the year. A special thanks to Paddy and Mary who worked hard all year running the scrambles. Well done to the winners; Ollie Moran, Jimmy Egan and Evelyn Smith. Second;John Crowe, Sheila Cooney,Frank Mulvey Third; Mary Costello, Vincent Mc Morrow and PJ Brennan

18 Hole Stableford: This competition will continue throughout the week, 18 hole competitions are coming to a close at end of the month so get out and enjoy the great weather.

Golf er of the year: Congrats to John Crowe who won golfer of the year, a very popular member in the club.

Chill Insurance Cards: Well done to the winner Helen Ryan, Kilmatow, Co. Kilkenny. Thanks to all the people who supported the draw.

Seniors: The Seniors hosted a fantastic open day last Tuesday with over 60 golfers, a special thanks to Gerry Mahon and Michael Joyce who organised such a wonderful event.Winners; Seniors club winners were 1st Vincent Callaghan, 2nd Harry O’Flynn 3rd, Vincent McMorrow. Ladies, Dorothy O’Connor, Evelyn Smith and Brid Sullivan. Non-senior club winners; William Harte, Fr. Ber Hogan and John Duddy. Thanks to all who supported this wonderful day.

Allen Gaels: Allen Gaels are hosting a scramble this Saturday with a shotgun start at 11am, course will be booked out until after 3pm.
