Breifne home after victory in World Cycle race

Breifne Earley’s epic Pedal the Planet cycle came to an official end last Saturday when the Leitrim Village man crossed the line to win the World Cycle race.

Breifne Earley’s epic Pedal the Planet cycle came to an official end last Saturday when the Leitrim Village man crossed the line to win the World Cycle race.

Breifne’s 18,000 mile journey came to an end last Saturday in Greenwich in London but he is not finished cycling yet as he returns home with a two-day cycle from Dublin to Leitrim Village next Friday and Saturday.

Breifne hopes to have 50 -100 cyclists or more with him on the final two days of his journey home and welcomes any support along the finish of his incredible journey. He leaves Dublin on Friday at 10 am and hopes to arrive in Mullingar at 5 pm.

On Saturday, Breifne leaves Mullingar at 10 am and hopes to arrive in Longford at 1 pm and then TrailBlazers in Carrick at 4.30 before an official welcome home party at St. Joseph’s Community Centre in Leitrim Village at 5pm.

Breifne says that everyone is welcome to join him at any stage of the final legs of his journey home next weekend.
