Leitrim milliner Jennifer Wrynne pictured at the Daffodil Day launch
Milliner and fashion blogger Jennifer Wrynne helped to launch the Irish Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Day fundraiser this week.
The Leitrim native was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2025.
Wrynne, who is mother to four children, spoke at the launch about her treatment.
She said that the only thing that her children were aware of was that she cut her hair, which “they weren't one bit happy about – they love mammy's long hair.”
“When we were going away to surgery or chemotherapy, I'd tell my children that mammy and daddy are going away on holidays and we'd bring them back chocolate or a treat,” she added.
Jennifer is now halfway through her plan of 20 radiotherapy sessions.
“I feel like I am out the other side, even though I have a few bits to do yet,” she explained.
The 36 year old, married to Colm, added that she tried to keep things as normal as possible.
“I fought for normality,” she stated.
Amid her treatment, Jennifer collaborated with jewellers Dylan Oaks to design the Infinity Necklace. 100% of the sales of the necklace were donated to breast cancer research, which raised over €53,000.
The Irish Cancer Society will hold Daffodil Day on Friday, March 20th.
Amy Nolan, director of clinical affairs at the Irish Cancer Society, said, “None of our free, life changing services or research would be possible without the incredible generosity of the public, especially on days like Daffodil Day.”
