Not all Co Leitrim schools to close this week

Not all schools in Leitrim are affected by the ASTI strike action this week.

A withdrawal of supervision and substitution by members of ASTI today is set to impact hundreds of schools around the county but not all schools in Co Leitrim will be subject to closure as a result.

The Leitrim Observer has information on the following schools in Co Leitrim:

- Carrick-on-Shannon Community School: Closed until further notice.

- Carrigallen Vocational School: Open as usual.

- Lough Allen College, Drumkeerin: Open as usual.

- Drumshanbo Vocational School: Open as usual.

The ASTI said no progress has been made on key issues of concern for members over the weekend.

The union said it will continue to maintain contacts with the Department of Education and Skills in the coming days with a view to resolving the issues.

Parents are advised to contact their child's school or view the school's website if they are unsure whether strike action will affect opening hours.
