Local Deaths

The following deaths have occurred in the Leitrim area:

Kevin Deehan, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim

Kevin Deehan, “The Acres”, Dromahair, Co Leitrim and formerly of Kellogyboy, Calry, Co. Sligo and Church Hill, Sligo. (Ex staff of Eircom), peacefully at Sligo University Hospital on Sunday, 20th November 2016. Reposing at the Nazareth House Chapel from 4.30pm on Thursday with removal at 6.30pm to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to arrive at 7pm. Mass of Christian burial at 11.30am on Friday followed by burial in Cloonameehan Cemetery, Bunninadden, Co. Sligo.

Winifred Nolan (née McNiff), Drumcoo, Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh

Winifred Nolan at the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen. Removal today Tuesday at 10.15am to arrive in St. Patrick’s Church, Holywell, Belcoo for 11am Funeral Mass followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. 

Terence Cullen (Odie), Dristernan, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim

Terence Cullen (Odie), Dristernan, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim (formerly Gubberudda, Arigna, Co. Roscommon) peacefully at his home, surrounded by his devoted family and in the tender care of the Palliative Care Team. Predeceased by his parents Johnny and Mary, brother John and infant sister Elizabeth-Ann. Sadly missed by his loving partner Marian, daughters Lorna and her husband John McPadden, Edel and her partner Mark and by their mother Mary, granddaughters Erin and Maeve, brothers Pat, Eugene and Peter, sisters Mary, Kathleen, Margaret and Attracta, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, his many cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.  Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon on Tuesday evening from 5.00 o’clock until 9.00 o’clock. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumshanbo on Wednesday at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Kilronan Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Palliative Care Team, Sligo. House private please.

Patrick (Packie) Reynolds, Corrawallen, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim / Bornacoola, Co. Leitrim / Co. Longford

Patrick (Packie) Reynolds Corrawallen, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim and formerly from Clooneen, Bornacoola, ex Longford County Council, November 20th, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, predeceased by his parents Mary and Thomas and siblings Seamus, John Tom, Michael, Mary and baby Luke. Deeply regretted by his special friend Patricia Sexton, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Funeral arrangements later.

Liam Hunt, Cloonfree, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon

Liam Hunt died peacefully at the County Hospital Roscommon. Funeral Mass today Tuesday 22nd at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Elizabeth (Lil) Sheridan (neé Rudden), Creeny, Milltown, Belturbet, Co. Cavan

The death has occurred of Elizabeth “Lil” Sheridan (nee Rudden) peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, 20th November. Funeral Mass today Tuesday at 1pm with burial afterwards in Drumlane Cemetery.

Emily Prior (née Baxter), Callowhill, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim

Emily Prior, mother of Liam Prior, Callowhill and Mary Flynn, Cootehall.  Funeral Mass today Tuesday at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary Seagrave (née Greene) Staghall, Belturbet, Co. Cavan

The death has occurred of Mary Seagrave, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, on Sunday, 20th November. Predeceased by her husband John Percy and daughter Thérése. Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughters Lily (Rutledge), Marie (Fahy) and Alice (Groarke), sons Gerard, Percy, Paul and Brian, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Funeral Mass at 11am today Tuesday, with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
