Celebrations are underway for many candidates as the latest Leitrim councillors have been elected.
Family, friends and neighbours came out to see the wins and losses, but whatever the case, tremendous support was felt by all at the count centre in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.
The official declaration of the newly elected 18 councillors for Leitrim County Council came at close to 5am this Sunday morning.
The official count began at approximately 2.30pm this Saturday afternoon, but unofficial tallies had ran since 8:30am this Saturday morning.
