From directors Rachael Moriarty and Peter Murphy , Róise & Frank is set in the picturesque Ring peninsula in Co Waterford.
Róise (Bríd Ní Neachtain) is still in mourning following the sudden death of her husband Frank, and is initially annoyed when a stray dog keeps mysteriously showing up at her door.
But a series of eerie coincidences soon has Róise convinced that the dog is Frank, reincarnated.
‘Frank Madra’ soon proves a much - needed companion for both Róise and shy, hurling - loving local boy Maidhchi Ruadhán de Faoite).
But as the stray dog wins over the town, Róise’s mean - spirited neighbour Donncha (Lorcan Cranitch) is not so convinced ...
Róise & Frank is a delightful Irish language film for the whole family: a comedy drama that will draw out smiles, tears and plenty of laughs from audiences.
It has proven a hit at several recent festivals at home and abroad, including winning the critics’ award for Best Ensemble at the Dublin International Film Festival 2022.
The 12% Cineclub was founded by The Rabbit's Riot Theatre Company in association with The Glens Centre and Access Cinema.
It features films directed by women.
In 2021 women comprised of 12% of directors of the top 100 films, a decrease of 16% in 2020.
