The DPP had a 100% conviction rate in Leitrim with cases in the Circuit Criminal court in 2008.
Ten cases came before the Circuit Criminal Court for Leitrim in 2008 and all ten cases secured a conviction on plea.
The figures were released in the annual report of the Director of Public Prosecutions 2009.
Releasing the report Director of Public Prosecutions James Hamilton says his office is fully stretched and if there is a further increase in the workload, something will have to give.
The Director of Public Prosecutions directs and supervises prosecutions on behalf of the public in the courts as well as related criminal matters.
The office received over 16,000 files last year. A decision was given on the vast majority of them - 88% within three months. 94% of the cases that went before the courts resulted in a conviction.
