The family and friends of the late Jerome McKiernan are organising a family fundraising weekend on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 to raise funds for the Oncology Unit at Sligo General Hospital.
Jerome was a patient at the Unit in 2010 under the great care of Dr Martin and his dedicated team. The care and support he and his family received from the doctors, nurses, catering, housekeeping staff and chaplins was second to none and will never be forgotten by his family. As a small token of appreciation, his family and friends are organising a fundraising weekend for this excellent service.
The weekend will be launched on Friday, June 11 at 7.30 pm on the High Street, Drumshanbo and events will commence on Saturday with Drumshanbo Fire Service hosting a car wash starting at 12 noon at Barrack Square. Jerome was a member of Drumshanbo Fire Service and his colleagues and friends on the Fire Service wanted to do their part.
On Sunday, June 10, the Sheemore Honda 50 Club will host a Honda Run with registration at 10am. The run will depart at 12pm sharp from the Mart carpark travelling to Aughnasheelin, Ballinamore, Mohill, Keshcarrigan, Leitrim Village and returning back to Drumshanbo. Also on Sunday is a Family Fund Walk/Run. Registration will take place at the Mart carpark at 12pm with the event starting at 1pm. Choose from a 3km or 10km walk. For further information contact Fiona McKiernan 087 932 1835 or Terry Gray 086 0800626.
