Carrick-on-shannon Gardai had to deal with a “large number of complaints” following the teenage disco marking the end of the Junior Certificate exams last Wednesday, June 20.

Gardai said there were a number of public order incidents and assaults recorded by juveniles and instances of criminal damage were recorded in Carrick-on-Shannon town after the disco concluded.

There was an issue with traffic congestion as the teenage disco concluded in the early hours of Thursday morning outside of Cartown.

Because of the age profile of those involved in the above incidents, a large portion of young adults were dealt with by the Gardai by way of juvenile caution.
